Jacob and I met in 2016 while working backstage during a college theatre production at Morehead State University where we became instant friends. We spent the next year laughing, drinking way too much Starbucks, and getting to know each other before we decided to make it official. Jacob asked me to marry him a few years later in the fall of 2021 on Saint Augustine beach.
After a rocky appointment at another store and as a plus size bride I was a little nervous to shop for my bridal gown. Fabulous Bridal had great reviews for plus size brides, so I decided to give it a shot. My consultant, Anne, was incredible to work with. She really listened to what I envisioned for my bridal gown, and I wound up saying yes to the very first dress! Once it came in, the alterations team made sure that the dress fit perfectly, and every detail was taken care of. I enjoyed my time at Fabulous Bridal so much that I joined the team as a consultant shortly after my wedding!
The highlight of our wedding was hands down our last dance. Yes, our LAST dance! Jacob and I had one last dance alone in the venue while our guests lined up outside for a sparkler exit. We took that moment to take in the day and process the first few hours as a married couple. That was the moment where it hit us that we were finally married!
My biggest piece of advice for future brides is to have a solid timeline for the day. Having a detailed timeline that is shared with everyone involved will ensure that the day runs smoothly and give you peace of mind throughout the day.
